Economics of Modern ML:

Markets, Incentives, and Generative AI

Workshop at AAAI 2025

Generative AI is likely to have a deep and profound impact on multi-agent strategic settings. This workshop will be concentrated on this research direction, covering emergent research topics such as mechanism design with/for generative AI, using large language models in strategic settings as well as using them as proxies of human economic/social agents in empirical studies. The workshop is concerned with both theoretical and empirical work. Concrete examples of the workshop topics include but are not limited to the following:
  • Online Advertisements with Generative AI.
  • Mechanisms for Aggregating Opinions in Social Choice and Information in Applications such as Search Engines.
  • LLM Usage in Strategic Settings such as Negotiation, Persuasion, and More.
  • Economic Impacts of Generative AI on Humans and Platform Welfare.
  • LLMs as Economic/Social Agents and Their Usuage in Simulations and Studies.
  • Data and Markets for Generative AI: Economics and Mechanisms for Selling Data for GenAI and Developing GenAI models.
